Cars and trucks will be returning to downtown on Father’s Day weekend thanks to Mainstreet Waynesboro and several new partners.
The Father’s Day Weekend Car & Truck Show will be held Saturday, June 19 from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. with vehicles stretching from center square to Walnut Street to the east and Potomac Street to the west.
Registration costs $12 per vehicle and opens at 7 a.m. The show is a joint project of Mainstreet Waynesboro, the Appalachian Golden Classics Car Club of Waynesboro and Buchanan Automotive.
Admission to the car and truck show is free.
The show is open to all classic and showcase vehicles of any make and model. The first 100 entries will receive commemorative dash plaques. Registration costs $12 per vehicle.
Trophies will be awarded for Best of Show, Mayor’s Trophy, Coolest Jeep, Father’s Choice and more.
Last year, the downtown car show was canceled because of the COVID-19 pandemic. In 2019, the show attracted thousands of visitors to downtown Waynesboro and an event record of more than 175 vehicles.

While the car and truck show is coordinated by Mainstreet Waynesboro and the Appalachian Golden Classics, it wouldn’t run smoothly without the support of the following community-minded businesses: Lead sponsor Buchanan Automotive, D.L. George & Sons, AAA Paving and AFS Insurance & Financial Services of Waynesboro.
“We are so blessed that Curtis and Julie Mummert from Buchanan Automotive are so generous with their support for Mainstreet activities and the community,” said Bill Kohler, director of economic development for Mainstreet Waynesboro.
“Mainstreet also is glad to welcome new sponsors to the fold as well. We can’t do this without the support of the community,” Kohler said.
New this year is a host of antique tractors that will be lined up in the parking lot next to The Counting House Banquet and Event Center. The tractors are from the GRID Tractor Club of Quincy.

New vendors include Diegel Family Farm, Humble Roots Mushroom Farm and JH Produce.
The market runs from 8:30 to noon at Main Street Park.
