Barrett-Jackson to Auction 2010 Callaway/Hendrick Edition Camaro SS with 100 Percent going to Operation Homefront
SCOTTSDALE, Ariz. – Barrett-Jackson will auction a 25th Anniversary 2010 Chevrolet Camaro SS Callaway/Hendrick Edition (Lot #3000) for charity during the Houston Auction at NRG Center, October 20-22, 2022. One hundred percent of the hammer price will benefit Operation Homefront, a San Antonio-based nonprofit dedicated to helping military families thrive in the communities they have worked so hard to protect. The limited-edition Camaro SS will cross the block on Friday, October 21, at approximately 4 p.m. CDT.
“We’re proud to come together with our collector car community in support of our nation’s military veterans,” said Craig Jackson, chairman and CEO of Barrett-Jackson. “Over the years, we have helped raise more than $148 million for charitable organizations. The generosity of our consignors, like Michelle Mauzy, who donated the 2010 Callaway/Hendrick Edition Camaro, is immeasurable. The sale of the Camaro will be an incredible opportunity to effect change in lives of those who need our help the most.”
The 2010 Chevrolet Camaro SS Callaway Hendrick Edition (Lot #3000) was built to commemorate the 25th anniversary of Hendrick Motorsports and this one, #25, was the last one produced. It can generate 582bhp at 6,400 rpm, with 546 ft/lbs of torque at 4,000 rpm. The Camaro can run a quarter-mile in 11.9 seconds at 120 mph and is capable of going from 0 to 60 in 3.9 seconds. This 6-speed manual muscle car includes a Callaway TVS2300 supercharger system, high-flow intake system, low-restriction exhaust system, PowerWindow hood and short-throw shifter. Additional features include a Callaway carbon-fiber front splitter, rear spoiler, rear diffuser and rocker panels, as well as a Hendrick Motorsports leather shift knob and boot, under-hood plaque, dash plaque, embroidered headrests, embroidered floor mats and anodized sill panels.
“This limited-edition Camaro captures lightning speed drag times, and is destined to capture our hearts when it crosses the block in Houston to benefit Operation Homefront,” said Steve Davis, president of Barrett-Jackson. “I have a deep respect for those who serve in our military and as our nation’s first responders. Join us in Houston and help us pay it forward to the courageous men and women who have given so much to protect our freedoms.”
“We are incredibly grateful to both Michelle Mauzy for her significant personal donation and our friends at Barrett-Jackson for their long-standing support of our important work,” said Brig. Gen. (ret.) John I. Pray Jr., president and CEO of Operation Homefront. “They clearly share our unwavering commitment to helping our military families in their time of need for all they have done and continue to do for all of us in our nation’s time of need.”
For over 20 years, Operation Homefront has been serving America’s military families. Operation Homefront is a national 501(c)(3) nonprofit whose mission is to build strong, stable and secure military families so that they may thrive, not simply struggle to get by, in our communities they have worked so hard to protect. Through critical financial assistance, housing and family support programs, Operation Homefront helps military families overcome the short-term bumps in the roads so that they do not become long-term chronic problems.
